My Story

I'm Kris Hardin, an author, poet, father, and man of faith. My journey has been shaped by moments of loss, love, heartbreak, disappointment, family, and pain. There were seasons when life tested me in ways I never expected. I found myself carrying emotions that were difficult to put in words. Through those experiences, I discovered that writing gave me a voice.

It Hurt Me, But I Survived It is a reflection of that journey. These poems come from real places of pain, faith, healing, and perseverance. I wrote this book not only to tell my story, but to remind others that what they've been through does not have to define where they are going. Sometimes the very things that hurt us become the testimony that helps someone else survive. I'm still becoming, still healing, and still trusting God. This is my story of survival.

"This book really touched my heart because so much of what the author shared felt familiar to me. I could relate deeply to the pain of being hurt by your father and the lasting impact that can have. Reading his words reminded me that our pain doesn’t have to define us. This is more than a book it’s a testimony of survival, healing, and finding strength through what you’ve been through! I truly believe someone will read this book and realize they’re not alone and I know I’m not alone. This book is so relatable!"

"This is a small book with a BIG message. His poems feel like pieces of his heart placed on the page. You can feel the pain, but you can also feel the courage it took to survive it. There is something incredibly powerful about being able to look back at the things that once hurt you and say, "I survived it." I believe anyone who has experienced pain, loss, disappointment, or difficult seasons in life can find something in these poems that speaks directly to their heart. I love that this book doesn't simply focus on the pain. It shows that pain can be part of the journey without becoming the end of the story. Through his words, Kristopher reminds us that we can go through difficult moments, experience heartbreak and disappointment, and still find a way to heal, grow, and become more positive. Thank you Kris."

"As I read, I found myself recognizing parts of my own life. Some moments felt surprisingly personal. It reminded that your experiences, both the beautiful and the painful one can shape who we become. This book just didn't give me a story to read, it gave me something to think about, and in some ways to something to feel, and understand about myself. If you have not already got you a copy, please do..."
